This Glenrothes also matured for 13 years and was finished in an Oloroso Sherry Ocatave cask. Like its siblings, this single malt was bottled exclusively for the German market and is part of the benchmark series from independent bottler Murray McDavid. In his various series, he bottles a wide variety of single malts, grains and blends. In the Benchmark series, whiskies are matured in selected casks. The bottle is designed with a thicker glass base and a high-quality wooden grip cork. The elegant packaging and label of this bottling shines in a fresh colour combination of silver and green tones.

The Glenrothes Distillery is located in Rothes in the heart of the Speyside. It looks back on a very turbulent history. The day the first spirit was distilled at Glenrothes was 28 December 1879 and this might have been seen a bit as a bad omen: It was the day the Tay Bridge at Dundee collapsed. Several times The Glenrothes was hit by fire and it burnt down at last, but as a phoenix it rose again and today it’s back on the stage and playing a big role in the Whisky game. lees meer
